1. About Tracker
Tracker (“Tracker”, “the bot”, “we”, “us”) is a Discord bot for geocachers. It recognises geocaching codes, supports a public trackables database, and includes features such as the skullboard, role-based messaging, stat bars, badges, and "Discaching", a virtual caching game played inside Discord.
Tracker is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Groundspeak, Inc. or Geocaching.com. "Geocaching" and related marks belong to their respective owners.
The Bot is run by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@trackerbot.xyz, or in our support server (https://discord.gg/CxTCRJz4hR).
2. Eligibility and Discord rules
You must be old enough to use Discord in your country, and at least 13 years old. You must follow the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times. If Discord bans or restricts your account, you may also lose access to Tracker.
If you add Tracker to a server, you confirm that you have permission to manage that server and that you will configure the Bot responsibly.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break any law, or the Discord Terms or Community Guidelines.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, or post hateful, sexual, or illegal content through the Bot.
- Submit false, misleading, or offensive content to the public trackables database, including names, descriptions, or locations.
- Use the Bot to publish another person's private information, including real-world home addresses or live locations.
- Attempt to exploit, hack, reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the Bot or its infrastructure.
- Use bugs, scripts, bots, or multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage in Discaching.
- Spam commands or use the Bot to send unsolicited or bulk messages.
- Sell, resell, or commercially exploit access to the Bot or its data without our written permission.
- Enter trackables into the database that you do not own.
4. Discaching (the virtual game)
Discaching is a game played entirely within Discord. Money, caches, locations, travel, and finds in Discaching are virtual and have no real-world location or value. Do not use Discaching to find, hide, or interfere with real geocaches.
All in-game items, progress, badges, and statistics are provided for entertainment only. They have no monetary value and are not property. Game progress is kept permanently and is not reset as a matter of course, but we may change, rebalance, or remove game content, data, or features at any time, including to fix bugs or prevent cheating.
5. Server administrators
Server owners and administrators control which features are enabled, such as the skullboard, message-sending roles, and stat bars. They are responsible for configuring Tracker in line with Discord's rules and applicable law, and for informing their members where required.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit through the Bot, such as trackable entries, messages, and server settings. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, display, and share that content as needed to run the Bot's features. For example, content you add to the public trackables database can be seen by other Tracker users.
You are responsible for what you submit. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law, without notice.
7. Availability
We aim for 24/7 uptime, but we do not guarantee it. The Bot may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, Discord outages, or events outside our control. Features may change or be removed, and new features may be added, at any time. Certain features may be unavailable because of outages or maintenance from their provider.
8. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend, or permanently block any user or server from the Bot at any time, with or without notice, especially for breaches of these Terms. You can stop using Tracker at any time by removing it from your server or by no longer using its commands. You can ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy, found here.
9. Disclaimers
The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Bot will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that information provided through it (including geocaching codes, trackable details, and user-submitted content) is accurate or up to date.
Tracker is not a navigation or safety tool. Geocaching involves real-world risks. Use your own judgement, follow the rules of the official geocaching platforms, and respect landowners and the law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, and loss of data, profits, or goodwill) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Bot. The Bot is free software provided without charge, and you use it entirely at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tracker, its operators, and its contributors from any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Bot, the content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of any law, third-party right, or Discord rule. Server owners and administrators give the same indemnity for how they configure and use the Bot in their server. This applies only to the extent the law allows.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, may announce them in our support server or through the Bot. If you keep using Tracker after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.
